1st year anniversary, The "May Your Will Be Done" Association
On its 1st year anniversary, The May Your Will Be Done Association held a memorial service at St Estephan Cathedral in Batroun on Sunday March 8th at 5pm.
The Service was lead by Monsignor Kheirallah assisted by Fr Habib Saab; during which some of the Association’s aspirations and objectives where shared with the attendees.
In her welcoming speech, following the Thanks-Giving prayer, Miss Rosine Saab, the Founder of the Association had this to say:
“Peace be with you,
I thank you all, my fellow brothers and sisters for joining us today to commemorate the Association’s 1st year anniversary. It has been a very active and comprehensive year for us; where we shared our less fortunate brothers’ their grief, and tried to unburden their sorrows to the best of our abilities.
The Bible Story we have just listened to, about the Bleeding Woman, reminds us of how harsh and severe our life has become for we too are (bleeding) morally, economically and that faith is following close behind.
But the most painful is the blood of all those children that is being brutally and criminally shed by all the destructive war machines.
As we wonder away from word of GOD and his teachings, we are heading towards total abolition, driven by greed, domination, and love for dictatorship.
As The Bleeding Woman wasted her money in seeking a cure, going from one physician to another, so do we; by running after empty promises and false hopes of a calamity free society; when our rescue lies in the ONE Savior, The Son of God.
This Woman, after her long search, finally turned to The Almighty who, never turns down a soul. And even before her plea was heard her life long illness was cured, restoring her to perfect health. We all ask, we all appeal and “The Lord givth”. I am a living example of his generosity and love, not because I am better than all but, may be because he had a different path set for me and “God works in mysterious ways” that I have never questioned but followed with total faith.
And to have faith is to do His will, and follow His way; it is be one with God. It is to be one with the poor and the weak, one with the prisoners and the cast a ways, one with the heavy burdened and the deprived. Let us not speak of our accomplishments but allow them to speak for us, this is what God has taught us, and this is how others shall know that we are His children, He has created us and we shall do His will; andHis will shall be done. This is our Association’s name, our motto and our guide, if it hadn’t been for His will, our Association would not have had its guiding light and incentive.
“May your be done Oh Lord,” is our daily prayer and this is what it shall always be, hoping He watches over us, blesses us with his grace, and gives us the strength to help
do his will in helpingall those whom we have dedicated ourselves to.
In closing, I again thank The Lord for all His Blessings, and our Patron St Rafka for her support, guidance and protection. To Her I pray, and with humility I ask her to oversee to our path and mission, to instill within our hearts, the love she had lived by, so we too can walk in her footsteps in helping and serving others. Amen.
Finally, I would like to extend my gratitude to each and every one who has supported our cause and helped our association in perusing its objectives in spreading the spirit of goodness, love, kindness and compassion.
May the Lord bless, protect and watch over them”.
Before the awaited recital, the audience was presented with three movies.
The first was of the Association’s objectives, principles, and various activities.
The second was a short review of the Association’s 2008 Summer Christian Song Festival.
The third film was a tribute to the Association’s members of honor who have played a major part during its first year.
At 7pm Miss Joumana Mdawa took the stage to over whelm the over packed Cathedral, with her heavenly voice in the recital titled “May Your Will Be Done”.
